A PSCORE source reports that, excluding 1st class army corps, 5th class corps, and special units branch, all other divisions have been feeding on potatoes to make up for a shortage in food supplies. This was originally reported by ladies from Onsong County of North Hamgyong Province who visited their sons serving in the military. A shortage of rice has been remedied with potatoes (which is now in season).
Border Patrol on Their Own for a Month
The Border Patrol Headquarters told the Patrol along the frontier with China to provide their own food supply for one month between the months of August and September. With autumn coming, the Border Patrol Headquarters’ food supplies seem to have been exhausted, as each troop division has been told to provide their own food. Members of border patrol are reported to be producing their own pressurized corn at present.
As of August 30th, rice and corn prices stand at 1,000 won per kg and 450 won per kg respectively. The exchange rate is 21,000 won per 100 yuan.
